F2 carbonation time estimator
Enter what temperature you're keeping your bottled kombucha at, and we'll estimate roughly how many days it'll take to get pleasantly bubbly — based on the safety ranges described in our F2 guide.
Enter the temperature
The recommended F2 range is 20–26 °C, at room temperature, in a dark spot.
Below 18 °C, fermentation slows down significantly, and the result will be less bubbly. If you can, find a spot at 20–26 °C.
Above 26 °C, pressure can build up quickly. Burp twice a day, and check the bottles earlier than expected.
Above 30 °C, the risk of bottle bombs increases significantly. Find a cooler, shaded spot for F2, or drastically shorten the time and refrigerate early.

This is a rule-of-thumb estimate based on the general relationship between temperature and fermentation speed — not measured data. The actual time also depends on the flavoring's sugar content (ginger and sweet fruit carbonate faster), how airtight the bottle is, and the strength of the culture. Always burp daily, and follow the safety steps.
